This was my husband’s 75th birthday cruise and a true trip of a lifetime for us. The natural settings, wildlife and marine life were so much more rare and wild than I had imagined. The numerous experts onboard (most were PhD’s and post doctoral) shared excitement over new sightings of mammals and fish and birds.

We really enjoyed the special ops boats and RIB touring, weaving our way through icebergs and ice debris, getting up close and personal with sea lions, three different types of penguins and birds that we normally would never see. Actually seeing water full of krill was a surprise for me.

Hiking on Antarctica was a plus, much, much warmer there than imagined.
