New cruise line, new ship. Was booked to sail on Ambience as Ada Johnson under CMV but obviously didn't make it. Loved the ship, very reminiscent of Colombus. Felt at home straight away, Ambience is a friendly ship and was good to see so many of the staff the were on CMV ships. The drinks were very random from bar to bar, that's a work in progress. Food was outstanding, from the 'buffet', restaurant to the al fresco bar. Unfortunately for us, the people who were on the freebie Gala Night event the night before hadn't vacated our cabin when we got there at 12.30. They were staying on for the maiden voyage but were expected to change cabins at 8am. We couldn't even get a drink because our cards were in the cabin. We had to wait until 5pm to get in. Very selfish, as we had paid for our trip. Not Ambassadors fault at all, they took us to Raffles bar and kept us informed, unfortunately though, we missed most of sail away because of it. We are booked on the Platinum Jubilee British Isles cruise and also Cuba.
Outside, unobstructed on deck 9, quiet. Cabin was as expected, very spacious, picture window, tea and coffee facilities. Ample shower and dressing area, lots of storage. Safe was temperamental but husband got the hang of it. We had one lamp that didn't come on but made a terrible rumbling noise and we did have trouble with the toilet not flushing properly for a couple of days but it was looked at straight away. It was the maiden voyage. We booked fully expecting there to be hiccups, there couldn't not be!
