We were very excited to plan our Tulips and Windmills river cruise. Then from the very start things went bad. We arrived in Amsterdam at 8:30am sat on plane for over an hour waiting for previous plane to move. We stood waiting for our luggage until 11:30 only to find out KLM luggage went on strike. No Viking rep. Word went through the terminal to fill out forms and get in a line of over 300 people. No Viking rep to help. When we finally exited customs Viking reps has no idea what to do. We had the 2 day extension at the Raddisson Blu. By noon arrived at the Raddisson Blu and our desk clerk laughed at our luggage situation. Our hotel Viking rep told us “we were on our own” and that the luggage would take a week and to go buy clothes, maybe Viking would cover it. We independently took a $150 cab to airport, stood in line to finally find our luggage. The two day extension was spent doing Vikings Job!
The trip was filled with constant problems
Kings Day with crowds we needed to avoid and go around by bus. May Day where shops are closed. But mainly the covid protocol on board is a Super Spreader event! You provide a spit test each morning then go about your day
