We chose this cruise for the ship size and port location close to our home. Having sailed on the Mariner in the past we were familiar with her layout, service reputation, cleanliness and attention to detail. She did not disappoint us. If you are looking for a good cruise experience, the Mariner provides most of what the larger newer mega ships are offering, with fewer passengers on board, easy navigation around the ship, lots of open deck space, great entertainment, and friendly staff at every turn. Casino machines could be loosened up a bit, lol, but still had fun there. Room was kept spotless! Food was very good, even in the Windjamer.,embarkation was fast, debarking not so good. The ship docked on return at different pier (carnivals terminal?) than embarkation, all passengers had to be bused to pier 1, communication on this could have been better, but this is the first time this has ever happened to us a seasoned cruisers, Diamond. Still pleased with overall cruise, we booked her again for a 5 night cruise, same port, in August of this year.
