My husband and I enjoyed our latest Viking trip on the Douro River in Portugal. The Tivoli hotel in Lisbon was first class and set the tone for the trip. The crew of the Hemming was attentive, the food delicious and the excursions were interesting and fun. Unfortunately for me, I tested positive for COVID and missed the last excursion due to quarantine rules. My husband and I spent the day in our cabin while arrangements were made to transport us to a hotel to complete our quarantine. We were taken to a lovely hotel (the Pestana Douro Riverside) with a beautiful view of the river and were provided with all of our meals. Viking covered our expenses and booked our flights home. While our vacation didn’t go exactly as we had planned, it could have been so much worse. Customer care is why I’ll continue to cruise with Viking!
