This was our 7th Cruise since June 2021, we are Elite Loyalty with Princess and were staying in a top suite, so we expected to embark very smoothly and thats when some problems commenced.

We have sailed to the Norwegian Fijords quite a few times before, it is one of the most beautiful cruises you can experience, but we had always cruised previously in June, when it is a bit warmer. The weather was superb, but cold, no rain at all during the 7 days, with blue skies and cold winds, you needed to wrap up warm when venturing out.

We started in Southampton and thats where the trouble commenced. There had been difficulty getting the passengers from the previous cruise off the ship. Apparently the moving gangway system failed and a manual gangway had to be found and installed. So we had all the cars leaving to go home with all the new passengers arriving, our driver had to stop for nearly one hour. When we finally got into the Terminal it was chaotic, what with Covid Testing which is now charged to our Account at $25 each, waiting for the results, getting our wheelchair assistance, then getting through Security and onto the ship, it took another 3/4 of an hour. Then our Mobility Assistants wouldn't take us up to our Suite, that took another 20 minutes whilst one of them Alan checked to find out if he had permission. It had taken us now over 1 1/2 hours to get to our suite.
