We sailed on Solstice in the first season followed by Eclipse shortly afterwards. During the next 10 years we sailed on several other cruise lines but returned to Celebrity choosing it not for the line but for the ports of call.

Oh dear, what a surprise. The business model has changed with the line seeming to recoup its losses at the expenses of the passengers.

Gone are the usual shopping facilities to be replaced by designer brands such as Cartier and Bulgari. The library has less books than a charity shop and there are no enrichment lectures or talks. On two ports of call, the ship docked in ports which required shuttle buses to visit the location and in 10 years of cruising this was the first time I have been charged for the use of a shuttle bus.
