Our recent trip on Carnival was one that I wish we never booked. The boat is older and the employee's are angry. The boat is boring and the Cruise director is not very creative. The activities were more for assisted living entertainment. The shows were very good but it you spend two days at sea and the entertainment is Trivia and Bingo. The pools are just tubs. You can't swim in them and there are no planned activities, like volley ball or diving because they are just bath tubs. I have never seen such small pools on a boat. The food was horrible. Buffet was always cold and the dinners in the dining room were below expectation. Embarking and debarking were a nightmare. There is no way when you debark the boat that you should be kicked out of your room 2 hours before you can get off of the boat. They closed down much of the boats seating and stopped some of the elevators. There was nowhere to sit and nothing to do for 2 hours but just stand. The lines of people were long and aggravating through the whole trip. No matter where you went for food or drink there were long lines. The cruise lines in general have a real problem with supplying drinks to minors. There are no place for children to get drinks on the boat except for the buffet section which is just juice and water, which you have to drink in a cup. If you want a bottle of water you have to go to a bar. So now you have children sitting at the bars ordering water and virgin drinks and adults can't can't get a drink. Sometimes as much as 7 children would be sitting at the bars. There are children in the hot tubs and minors playing machines in the casino. There is no control over the children they run everywhere. As one lady told me in the elevator. I have no idea where my children are.

Cabin Review

The cabins are small and you cannot turn off the air conditioning. It is set at 74 and when it is only 78 outside that is very cold in the cabin. We asked maintenance if we could turn it off and they said no, that the lowest it could be at is 74. It was freezing on the boat everywhere inside.
