Great experience on the MSC Virtuosa

Review for the Middle East Cruise on MSC Virtuosa

The check in and boarding process was smooth and our deck 8 cabin with a balcony was more than adequate for 2 people. The food was way better than we expected and we enjoyed eating at our assigned restaurant each evening. The serving sizes were just right and the quality and variety more than satisfactory. The Market Place buffet was great for breakfast/lunch/ late night snacks. We did not try any of the specialty restaurants and stuck with the food choices included in our cruise price. The itinerary was good - Genoa, Marseilles, Barcelona, Alicante (switched from Cadiz due to weather issues) and Lisbon. The staff were great - very helpful and they went above and beyond in looking after the guests.

There are a couple of things to be aware of - I didn’t think the drinks package was worth it. Everyone in the cabin must purchase the same drinks package but people’s drinking capacity varies! The drinks are relatively cheap on board so only a big partier would break even in my estimation. In addition, some of the bars were not covered by any drinks package at all so just keep that in mind when deciding whether to go for the drinks package! The staff push the drinks package a lot on embarkation day but do your research before deciding! The spa is amazing but it is costly so it adds up pretty fast! If you limit yourself to what is included in your cruise you won’t get hit by any surprises when you get your final bill. Overall a great experience and will be booking again for sure!
