If this were our first cruise, we would never go cruising again.

The embarkation in NY is described as chaotic at best. Nothing indicates where you should go to drop off luggage (we parked for $200 at garage on W 58st and walked). The ship was at pier 88, and we asked a porter what to do, he said to drop bags and go to pier 90. No signs or NCL personnel anywhere directing. At pier 90, we discovered a line that took up to 8 HOURS standing, to get through the covid documents screening, that enabled you to return to pier 88 to get the normal cruise embarkation room keys and such. Due to the extended embarkation delay, and "high river current", we left the dock at midnight instead of 4pm, and canceled the stop at Norfolk. I think the Va stop was canceled because Bermuda would require NCL to retest all 4000+ passengers for covid again. I haven't seen the credit refund for the unused port fees paid.

Throughout the 7 days, line were a constant thing. We never saw a show during the week, because they were full. A line formed for each (we were 30min early), to be turned away due to overcapacity. Specialty dining, we had a reservation set before the cruise started, and the short line (4 tables) took 20 minutes. We had 2 dinners as part of the cruise package, but could not make the second reservation, again due to none being available. Food overall in the buffet and dining rooms were just ok, except for the pastry/dessert chef, and the fish. They were outstanding! Internet package, 250 minutes free. They tell you on the third day, that you have to log in, and LOG OUT, or the counter keeps going eating up your minutes. No information on the TV about weather forecasts, just ads for the shows you can't attend, and the same few movies throughout the cruise. Getting off the boat, same story. We did the self baggage option (as did many others), and we walked the length of the ship twice (in line) to get out. There were 2 decks doing the same conga dance. Customs was just wave to the officers. I never intend to use NCL again.

Cabin Review

Family Balcony Stateroom

The cabin was nice overall, the attendant and staff were friendly and efficient. The bed was comfortable and on the firm side.
