My husband and I decided to go on this cruise for three reasons: 1.) We love cruising, meeting people, and decompressing. 2.) We live close to the LA port, so no flights were involved. 3.) The NEW ship.
What did we get? Far more than our expectations. It was a new ship, and cruising was getting back. We were not sure what to expect.
Embarkment: There was little chaos there. You are welcomed to long ominous lines with no clarity on why. I am not sure what the GREEN line was or how it helped. However, the crowd was so happy to be there no one was complaining, and we just talked and met people.
Room: We had a standard balcony room. Very clean and looked very similar to other Princess balconies. The bed was HOT. We couldn't figure out what was causing it, but it must have been the choice of mattress covering. We talked with the cabin steward, and we really could confirm why. The AC was not working the first couple of days. Not sure if that is a setup based on the outside temperature. When leaving LA is in the '60s. I like to sleep at 65-68 degrees.
We started the process but quickly evalauted that the tender process was not something we wanted to get involved in. So we never left the ship.
You will not have to wear a mask anywhere on the ship (hooray!). However, Purto Vallarta requires a mask to enter the store. We got off the ship without a mask and quickly got stopped without a mask to go into the mall. we quickly went back and we were back on the ship in 10 minutes.
