This was our first cruise, we picked it for the itinerary. We had few expectations outside of visiting the five ports of call. The ship did not port in Prince Edward Island or Sydney, Nova Scotia. In lieu of Prince Edward Island, we rolled around at sea and got terribly sea sick. It felt like a nightmare that wouldn't end, especially when we woke up the next morning to find out we STILL weren't in port, missed Sydney as well. At least on this day the crew had sense enough to hit the gas and get us to Halifax, this also helped the stabilizers work better and decreased the rocking and rolling. Thank goodness! The food and service got progressively worse. By the next to the last day the scrambled eggs were the consistency of jello and the pancakes were raw in the middle at breakfast. Also the desserts really disappointed. Everything was made out of spongecake and whip cream flavored either strawberry vanilla or chocolate. Even the "Chefs special" was chocolate spongecake, chocolate whip cream cleverly (read sarcasm) presented in a candy chefs hat. I didn't start eating dessert yesterday buddy! We were travelling with a baby and although we had pre arranged a high chair, several days we could not use the high chair (yes, THE ONLY high chair) because it was being used by a crewmember who had their family on board. It was inconvenient and annoying. I cannot comment on the Boston airport transfer because I will end up getting angry and raising my blood pressure. All I can say is, do not pay for airport transfer in Boston, unless you like hiking with all your luggage and feeling ripped off. The wait staff and room stewards were wonderful people, I hope they really do get the lions share of the pre arranged tipping on HAL. Quebec City, Halifax and Bar Harbour great ports of call, well worth a visit.

Cabin Review

Felt a lot of motion, noisy when docking.
