It was the first ship to sail from Portsmouth since lockdown and was Viking Venus' maiden voyage. The ship was only one third occupied, so never crowded. Can't fault facilities, food, entertainment and crew. Everything was perfect, except the weather. We rounded Land's End in a Force 8 and, sadly, had to miss out on visiting the Scilly Isles due to the rough seas. However, the ship was very stable and my husband even swam in the infinity pool during the storm! Excursions were limited to coach trips due to Covid restrictions which was a shame but didn't spoil our enjoyment of the voyage at all - it was so good to get away after all the lockdown confinements. All the food venues were exceptionally good, especially the Captain's Table - superb! The entertainment crew were fantastic. Anne Diamond is the ship's Godmother and was on the cruise. Her talks were extremely interesting. All in all a well-received reintroduction to travel after such a long break.
