This was a last minute decision to cruise for us. Just happened to check rates on a Monday just being curious and found a great deal within driving distance of North Louisiana. We had never been on the Ecstasy or that class of ship before and figured this was probable the last chance we would have so we booked a 4 day leaving on Thursday. Well aware that this was the second cruise of the ship and for the Port of Mobile, we knew there may be a learning curve for all involved ( this was our third cruise since the restart and all were within the first 3 sailings of the respective ship).

Previous cruise had been delayed for seven hours in Cozumel so Ecstasy was late arriving back in Mobile and didn't seem to start disembarkation until after 1pm. We had been notified by Carnival that we should arrive to the port between 3 and 6pm with all guests on board by 6:30. At 3 we tried to get to the port only to find what seemed to be everyone else also waiting because nobody was allowed into the parking garage due to the fact that passengers were still disembarking. Around 5 we were able to get into the garage and instantly greeted by the porters. The porters we FANTASTIC, super friendly, not pushy and highly efficient, I didn't even get out of the vehicle. Got in line to enter the building and was in the building by 5:45.

Check in was very quick and efficient once in the building. Prior to arriving we had our documentation in VeriFly that was quickly checked and then off to the next station. Because we had everything in the app they didn't have to go through each paper document and check vaccination dates, test dates and results. We then got our pictures taken for sign and sail accounts and travel ID's checked and walked on the ship.

Cabin Review

Interior

Cabin E6 forward on the Empress deck. It may be under the theater but did not hear any noise from above under normal conditions. The one night we were faced with extremely bad weather and high seas something sounded like it broke loose on the theater stage and was rolling and banging for a little bit but was eventually secured. There is a crew lounge access around the corner from this cabin and foot traffic by crew members passing by at all hours is normal.

Cabin was clean at all times and bathroom almost seemed larger than other ships although it lacks the normal storage of other bathrooms. TV is small and there is not a mini fridge in the cabin. Only 1 electrical plug so bring a power strip if you need to power multiple devices. No thermostat in the room but you can control the temp by opening or closing the vent above the bed. Our observation was this cabin was by far the most comfortable temperature wise we have had in awhile and could have made it even colder in the room.

Port Reviews

Cozumel

Only had a short time in port (3 hours) due to arriving late. Had drinks and food at Three Amigos in the port area that were decent. Typical shopping experience and vendors are not pushy in most places.
