The port in Jacksonville was very easy to find and to get a park. So much better than New Orleans. No homeless people hanging out like New Orleans. The Embarking and Disembarking the ship was total chaos! We had verifly app and had a passport. We didn't get out of there until 11:30 a.m.! Having a passport did help some, but not much. Embarking and Disembarking was so much better on Carnival Glory in New Orleans. Totally disorganized. The final show called Epic Rock was cancelled on Friday! Show was full. We were looking forward to that show. Punchline was very funny, but was so crowded. The lady singing that wants to be in Broadway was good too from England, but she did the show by herself. Not sure why she can't get a job in Broadway. She's great! Lines for food were always very very long. Even the ice cream! It wasn't like that on Carnival Glory. I did hear the ship sold out and was full. That "might" have contributed and also being spring break. They would only open 1 side of the buffet with long lines!!! 1 side of the ice cream was working next to Guy Burgers. Not having lemonade and ice a lot of times was crazy along with hot chocolate. My 12 year old son said a worker told him that the hot chocolate machine on the pool deck hasn't been working for over 2 years. The Kitchen Manager even watched me as I tried to get ice not coming out and didn't say a word!! They were out of certain supplies. One side of the elevator was working. The elevator working had numbers not lighting up on one side of the elevator. Things were constantly not working. Very frustrating. The '80s Glow Show was very cool. I enjoyed that. Carnival Glory in New Orleans that we went to a few months ago during our son's winter break had things not working either...especially the kitchen. I liked it some better because the embarking and disembarking was much better. I recommend the Dolphin Encounter on Blue Lagoon! Only thing is that people grab the lounge chairs quickly. Only found a small chair. Princess Cays was beautiful, but be careful because there are quite a few sting rays. Also see my comment about Cabin and Steward below.

Cabin Review

Interior

The cabin was okay. We didn't have a towel animal the first day only. Never had a beach towel in the room. First time having a balcony. We love to watch the stars at night, and the neighbors kept turning lights on, and we can see it. Also no privacy on deck. It was much better than an oceanview because we had an oceanview on another Carnival ship, and the windows were dirty. I don't recommend an oceanview at all because they don't wash the outside of the windows. Inside cabin with the balcony is the same as a regular room with or without an oceanview. Steward was a little late cleaning the rooms everyday, but we were okay with that. Please let you employees go home to see their family more. He had to sign a contract to keep his job for 2 years without seeing his family! I can understand 1 year maybe but 2 years! Come on Carnival!

Port Reviews

Jacksonville

We got a great deal for this cruise because we cruised before with Carnival in New Orleans. The port was great getting there and the parking. The embarking and disembarking was chaos.
