I wanted to test the cruise waters post-covid cruising shutdown. The good: RC set up hand washing stations at the entrance to their Windjammer buffet with a staff person directing us to wash our hands in a fun manner; staff enforced the no touch procedures in the Windjammer buffet-offering to serve us immediately; there were many signs posted to urge social distancing; the venues were clean looking. The bad: some people think covid is over and did not social distance; they packed the elevators; stood over my shoulder when waiting in line and chose to sit next to us, despite other seating choices. RC has done what they can to promote covid safety. That said, your fellow passengers will not help you social distance.
RC changed itinerary times AFTER we booked the cruise and in the week before we were due to travel. They effectively trashed the visit to Port Canaveral, arriving at 3 pm instead of 10 am. Cape Canaveral closes at 6 pm. And there's no time to travel an hour there and back to Orlando. 1 of 3 port days gone. We ate at a very good restaurant at the port. Still very disappointed. We heard RC decided to cruise slowly to Port Canaveral to save fuel due to the ship being only two thirds booked.
RC messed up the paperwork to disembark on their own Coco Cay Island and we waited two plus hours to disembark. They did stay one hour later on the island. Passengers crowded the hallways waiting to disembark further impeding disembarkation. Glad we didn't fork out 1-2 thou for a cabana!
Reasonably spacious and was kept clean. Room attendant was very considerate and helpful.
Didn't have to fly to a port, but this was a mistake. Stood out in the winter weather until embarkation time. The port looks very run down from the outside, but it's fine when you can get inside.
