Having been persuaded to try a cruise to Norway on Britannia with my in-laws some three years ago before Covid plunged to the world into dysfunction, I was looking forward to another one with the same cast. We chose a short cruise to Northern Europe Hamburg/Rotterdam/Zeebrugge/Le Havre and were looking forward to boarding Iona.

Of particular importance was the facilities for children, as we have a six year old and our experience on Britannia in this regard was very positive.

Hamburg was cancelled around a week prior to sailing, which was not ideal as it was the only stop we were looking forward to. No reason for cancellation was supplied and this lack of communication was to become something a theme.
