Very good service from the Viking staff starting at the Paris airport. Easy bus ride to our hotel. Hotel LeMeridien in Paris was very nice. Good restaurant as well. Tour of the city was top notch. Lots of time to explore on our own at times. Wonderful getting up close to the Eiffel Tower. Smooth motor coach ride to Luxembourg where our visit to the American WW2 cemetery was a real highlight of the trip. Seeing General Patton's grave was very special. Then on to Trier where the ship was docked. Visit to Cochem was great as we did the e-bike excursion to a small town and back. Something like 27 kilometers total. Much fun and picturesque. Visit to Ehrenberg fortress at Koblenz was also great fun as the tour guide was an excellent actor and entertained us the whole time. Visit to Rotenberg was a treat. Lunch with our group was very good. We extended our visit in Prague and found a great Italian restaurant that we went to 3 times. The Hilton Hotel was excellent. Nice, large room with many comforts. The restaurant there was very good, though we had met of our meals in the old town. The breakfasts each morning were over-the-top great!

The food on-board was excellent every time we ate. We had the drink package which was very convenient and we felt worth the extra expense. Our captain, several times, made time to sit with us and talk about anything we were curious about concerning running the ship and staff. He was great fun to be with, had a good sense of humor.

We were so impressed that we booked another river cruise, Rhine Getaway, for August of 2022.

Cabin Review

Veranda Superior

Veranda stateroom on A level. Though smaller than on the ocean cruise, it was still more than adequate. We did use the veranda quite a lot. Shower was not so small that it was hard to use. Lots of storage space. No problem with enough outlets to use. Would love to have the espresso machine like you get on the ocean cruise, but to issue as coffee is available a short walk away.
