We had a most wonderful cruise aboard the Viking Hermod. We had wanted to take a cruise focusing on the Christmas markets as well as seeing historical sites and this was perfect. The included walking tours of the port towns were led by local guides and were very informative and enjoyable. We were extremely fortunate to be able to experience the Christmas Markets as they had been able to open even with Covid and we had plenty of time to enjoy each one. We now have quite the Gluhwein mug collection! The food and service aboard ship were fabulous. We really enjoyed the service staff; they were friendly, great senses of humor and seemed to enjoy their jobs. It was also great to be able to interact with the Captain and other senior crew members as they freely intermingled with the guests. The food was excellent and, although we did purchase the Silver Spirits plan which was extremely cost-effective, the included beer and wine were much appreciated. We loved the understated Scandinavian decor on the ship. It was calming and relaxing and it was very nice to experience an atmosphere that didn’t feel like a casino. The entire experience from booking, transfers, and the cruise itself, were the best I’ve ever experienced and I highly recommend Viking to all of my friends and family.
