This was the second Grand European cruise that we have taken. The only reason I’m giving it a 4, as opposed to a 5 had little to do with anything other than low river levels. Our ship’s captain chose, on several occasions, to drop off passengers for their appointed excursions and then raced ahead in order to avoid river congestion and to travel over low points easier. As a result, transportation back to the ship was not as ideal as what we had experienced before.

And, of course, the daily CoVid testing was a pain. Mid way through, one in our party tested positive and our traveling companions were whisked off the boat immediately, which dampened our spirits immensely.

But, other than that, we had a fine time. Viking staff is always superb. We did book the Explorer Suite and loved it. Gabriella was our Suite Manager and I can’t say enough good things about her. Kind and attentive and a great personality. Read more
