We had the Panama Canal on our bucket list. Since we sailed many times with Princess (Platinum members) we chose the Emerald Princess even tho it was an older updated ship. There were so many issues. Our room C604 was always warm. We talked to the desk and room attendant and while courteous and encouraging it remained warm for the whole 10 days. We paid for drink package but we’re told every day our wine choices were unavailable and must accept a substitute even tho our choice was included on the package. When ordering drinks on the Medallion ap we did not receive half of them. Princess has decided if you give the food a fancy name it must taste good-not so! The food quality was below standard in the main dining room. It seemed everything on the ship was being rationed. We love the International Cafe. By day 5 they had run out of caramel syrup for our coffee and the Equal sweetener I had to request was given out as if I should be ashamed for asking for it. The ship was half full and half staffed. Some of the eating venues never opened such as the The Bar B Q venue. Entertainment was very good for a cruise ship. The comedians were excellent. The ship had three instances where sailing was delayed. Our initial departure was delayed 5 hours due to “technical difficulties”. The casino looked as if they had removed half the machines. It was sparse with older machines however even tho we did not “win” we played a lot and did not lose every penny we allocated. I hope Princess gets back to the customer oriented line we love. This ship made us feel like we should have stayed home!
