We are long time cruisers; many times with Celebrity. The idea of a music walk instead of the production shows enticed us to try our first Holland America cruise. We are happy that we did and will be returning. The ship is beautiful new, not too big and easy to get around.

Overall, the food was hit and miss. We tried three speciality restaurants; Calamita (Italian) was awful, but the Pinnacle Grill and the Asian Restaurant, Tamaride, couldn’t have been better. Both were excellent choices with outstanding service. Most of our meals in the MDR were good. Our waiter, Alim, in the MDR was very attentive. The Lido cafeteria provided an option at lunch but few choices. The Drive In hamburger place was ok, but you waited along time for an average hamburger. We liked the NY Deli and Pizza much better.

Overall service on board was very good. There were crew members everywhere, always willing to help. We never had a problem getting a drink at the main pool or anywhere else. We never went to the Adult area pool (because of the cigarette smoke.) so I can’t comment on bar service there.
