We have sailed many times with Regent. ALWAYS STANDARDS HAVE BEEN HIGH BUT NOT SO MUCH ON THIS CRUISE. still great staff BUT the organisation re travel was lousy. Forced to fly via Heathrow both ways when direct flights available, dumped on day of departure in a beach club that was 1 star and over crowded to a level that was crazy. Put on a minibus with 10 passengers plus all luggage, crammed in we could hardly move ,it was RUBBISH. Previously we would have been taken to a reasonable hotel, the beach club was horrible ,not what was paid for and way below any cruiseline standard never mind a six star line
The entertainment on ship apart from the usual singer/dancers was rubbish, a puppet show the theatre highlight one night. Never did we get to dance as the bands played music from the 40/50s or jazz . Couldnt even get a decent gin and tonic, dont have Schweppes just horrible tonic out of a big plastic bottle. I asked for a Bacardi and was given some local stuff instead ,when questioned staff admitted it and apologised for trying to pass it off as bacardi. What is going on??
The main restaurant was lovely but the portion size has shrunk to that of an OAP special. Prime 7 , just not up to previous standard ,T bone steak had hardly any fillet and full of sinew, staff shown and again v sorry, end of meal petit fours changed to one little chocolate with jam in.
Refurbished penthouse. V nice but PandO penthouse on Britania is better
