We booked this Cruise on the 25 January 2022 as a special birthday celebration which included visiting Sicily and Sardinia the highlights for us. We paid the total, but confirmation of my Travel Insurance was not included until we heard from the Insurance Department. We did receive a call from Saga and gave the requested information. We were told we would be contacted from another colleague. Despite calls by us we did not hear from Saga until 4th March that Travel Insurance had been accepted (9 days before departure). We requested confirmation in writing (3 times) as we do not have printing facilities, but nothing arrived before departure. It was waiting for us on our return.
On the 9 March Saga rang to say our itinerary was changing as Italy would not allow us to stop at Salerno, Sicily or Sardinia, but would be stopping instead at Majorca, Minorca and Cartagena. This was not, of course, Saga’s fault and incurred hundreds of calls and no doubt cancellations by passengers. As it was only 4 days before departure we decided to go with the revised itinerary as it was too late to arrange another holiday elsewhere.
We were driven to Southampton and strict Covid procedures were in place.
