Prior to our trip I read lots of reviews. People often write reviews because they had a really bad experience or a really good experience. We wanted to share with you what worked for us in hopes that maybe it will enhance your trip. Keep in mind, week prior was 3,000 aboard, we were at 1700 and the week following is now at 2,000. We cruised March 26, Western Caribbean.

Embarkation – MSC still requires you to have a covid test prior to boarding. They were testing everybody however, if you now show up with test results within the past 48 hours, that is valid. It saves you 15-20 minutes during the embarkation process. We used a CVS at home, showed printed results and we were good. Proof of vaccination is required and be careful, I believe if x number of days have passed since your 2nd shot, proof of a booster is required. Check the MSC website under health and safety. Our original time for embarkation given to us was 12:00. It was changed to 2:00. We showed up at 11:30. Lots of employees on hand moving people through. The process was quick and efficient. New photos were taken for everyone. With the performance of the airlines as of late, it pays to arrive in Miami a day ahead of time for peace of mind.

The masking policy is not overbearing. You are asked to wear a mask during embarkation, when entering the theater and the customer service area. Most other areas masking is optional, some used them, others did not. Staff wears them at all times within reason.
