I’m 60 years old, traveling with my 80-year-old mother. First cruise on Carnival but 5 past cruises on other lines.

Arrival: Arrived at LAX on a flight too late to schedule Carnival shuttle transportation to the pier. Total chaos at the airport with construction everywhere. Uber at curbside listed at $120. Took the shuttle to the other uber/taxi location and got an uber quickly for $35. 50-minute ride from LAX to ship.

Long walk to check in for my mother. Because we arrived after 2:30 pm there was no baggage service. After 20 minutes in the Covid check line (apparently uploading everything to the VeriFly app saves no time whatsoever), another 30 minutes in the actual cruise check in line. Finally got on board and more chaos everywhere. Found our room, Spa Balcony, bed not made up correctly, no phone response for cabin attendant or room service. No online orders available on the app.

Cabin Review

Very cozy. Beds not made up as twins upon arrival and cabin attendant didn't answer the phone. No slippers. Beds comfy but sofa hard as a Flintstone Rock. Tiny balcony with 2 chairs and a table. Wish there were chargers/outlets near the beds and definitely an outlet in the bathroom. Underwhelmed by the "upgraded" products in the Spa Balcony room on the 11th floor.

Port Reviews

Ensenada

Meh. Wouldn't have departed the ship except our covid testing person encouraged us to help support the local tourism.
