Additional details

Sail Date: Mar 2022
Cabin:
The Spa. Wet and dry steam room. Himalayas salt room. Heated marble slabs. No jacuzzi. Entrance fee
Night View from deck 16. Main pool quite small.
The Test Kitchen. Definitely an experience to have
Pink Agave sweet. Stunning
The Wake lunch sweet . Apple bake.
Outside viewpoint in Lisbon. The red balcony lights tend to remain on throughout the cruise. No balcony light function

I was so looking forward to the maiden 11 day voyage on this new ship setting sail from Portsmouth to Spain,Portugal and Lisbon. . Virgin offered a new cruising experience and we certainly had that.

Prior to arriving for the cruise, the virgin voyages app is used as your countdown and planner. This should enable you to book meals in advance and see what's happening. This app is not fit for purpose and caused more trouble than anything else.

Covid Testing was required, understandably, to be done 72 hours before departure. Reporting the results failed on a number of occasions leaving a number of 'sailors' anxious if they would be allowed to board.

Cabin Review

Love the design and colour. Never saw the sofa function as always left out as a bed. Comfortable and large bed. Pillows a bit too soft for me personally. Good temperature control. Drawers only in wardrobe area so minimal. Large screen TV with good range of films. Love, just love the cinema mode. Mood lighting and automatic curtain control via the room ipad. Great shower space with rainfall shower head and seperate head. The rest of the bathroom a bit too small so dried outside of bathroom. Fridge with fresh water left daily. Plenty of USB charging points. Wrist door lock ( also used to pay for drinks) Hammock outside. Could use a few cushions for the metal chairs on the balcony.

Port Reviews

Lisbon

Vast city. A mix of the old and new. Modern port terminus. Good transport. For a seperate day leave the city and visit the smaller towns
