Sail Date: Mar 2022

We had already been on 4 Solstice Class cruises, and wanted to try one on Edge Class. We sailed on our first suite class(Sky) on Equinox (Aug. 1, 2021), moved up to Signature Suite on Reflection (Dec. 11, 2021), then decided to return to Sky Suite on the Apex (That is plenty posh enough for us).

We had a bit of a rocky check-in at the port. Arrived at terminal at 10:45; no problem getting right up to gorgeous new Retreat check-in lounge, which was already full. Lady came right over with iPad to check us in. She seemed to be having a problem with our passports, and excused herself without explanation. We had no idea what the problem was, and thought there must be something wrong with our brand new passports. Turned out Celebrity had not updated our new passport info, so it needed to go through the main computer, and she couldn’t access it on her iPad. First of all, Celebrity should have already done that, and/or at least she could have let us in on the problem, instead of stressing us out while waiting a half hour, thinking we might not get on the ship.

Our cabin was beautiful, with bed facing balcony, backing up to a wonderful bathroom (separate toilet cubby, large tub, rain shower++++. The mirror is in two halves that slide open to view the room, balcony, and sea. Gorgeous! Thankfully, they have eliminated those rocking chairs, freeing up more living space, and added a bigger table in front of sofa (not so comfortable, although the bed was great). The location was wonderful, being just a few steps from midship elevators. The only downside for us was the balcony. No lounge chairs or footstools. Brought inflatable ones, that didn’t work out so well. Balcony only 5 ft wide, with sides going all the way up to ceiling that extends all the way out. DH & I LOVE to sit out at night, seeing the stars, feeling the breeze, and watching the ocean go by, while sipping our nightcap glass of wine. Felt very closed in, big white railing is right at eye level, so you must duck down in your chair to see horizon (problem both night and day for us). Magic Carpet, just a few cabins away and 4 decks above us has neon lights that cast a blue haze far out to sea, as well as lights underneath. This was a big minus for us.
