Our grandchildren sent two of their stuffed animals to travel with us. They had a wonderful time everywhere we went. The beach was a favorite!

It's been a while since we sailed Celebrity and wanted to the Celebrity experience again. The ship was super clean and in excellent condition. Passengers were mostly 55+ with very, very few children and teens. There were activities for families/children, but just not many on board. Passengers mostly from US, Canada, England, and Germany. Crew was fantastic, polite, and helpful. Food was unremarkable in the main dining room. Wait staff was very good. With COVID protocols, the crew sometime struggled to keep staffing to necessary levels. Many of the crew were very new and struggled to know what to do at times. Many were just learning English, so communication was sometimes difficult. This was just the result of having to send the experienced staff home for so long. The ship was at one half capacity which made it easy to find a place by the pool or a table in the buffet. The crew worked extra hard to fill the staffing gaps and to keep the ship clean and safe. The extra effort really showed. Our cabin steward, Paresh was especially helpful. Kept our room in tip-top shape the entire time. But.....If you expect everything to be perfect on the ship, now is NOT the time to cruise. Wait until things get back into more normal conditions. We knew what to expect, so weren't surprised that some things weren't what we were used to. Things like changes mid-cruise in the wait staff, delays in the kitchen, not enough crew at the buffet at times, cancelled tours, language gaps, etc. are to be expected. This did NOT affect our experience, we just went with it and understood that everyone was working hard and doing their best.

Masks were not required on board, but were required in the port area. On the islands masks were required at the immediate port area and always indoors. The ship's crew always were masked.

On embarkation day, things have really improved! We downloaded the Celebrity app prior to the cruise and uploaded our documents. When we arrived at the port, we handed over our luggage, showed our COVID documentation and headed up the escalator. At the top, there were just a few short questions to answer, showed our COVID documents again, flashed our boarding pass on our phones and headed up the gangway. Total time less than ten minutes! Disembarkation was just as easy and it took less than ten minutes to exit the ship, collect luggage, and clear customs/immigration. The Celebrity app is pretty good. Easy to check the daily schedule and menus at the various restaurants. The TV works from the phone and you can unlock your room with it. To unlock your door, you have to open the app and open the unlock door tab, so it's just easier to just use your sea pass card. There is also a texting feature on the app, but with no push notifications (that we could find) you don't know when someone has messaged you. There was free wi-fi and two internet packages. The free wi fi was easy to use. We never were able to activate our internet package... we always got a "server error, try again later" message. Fellow passengers had no trouble with this, however.

Deluxe Veranda 2B

We had a standard veranda room deck 7, port, aft. The room was quiet and immaculate. Paresh provided excellent service. Storage included three drawers in the vanity, shelves and drawers in the bathroom, two spacious cupboards above the bed and space under the bed to store suitcases. The closet had space and hangers for all of our needs. (we always bring a few extra hangers to supplement what is provided) Nice couch and small table (which we slid under the vanity to provide more space in front of the couch). The bed was very comfortable and we love the round corners to make getting around much easier. The shower was fine. Love how you can set the water temperature in the shower once and it stays set for the entire cruise. Just turn on the shower and it's ready! The veranda had two chairs with enough recline settings and a small table. One thing to know: this ship has only two sets of elevators: the main elevators near the center of the ship and the forward elevators. If you are in an aft room, you will be walking to the central elevators every time. No elevators or stairs aft on this ship. We never had to wait long for an elevator with eight at the center. They were quick and the glass made the ride fun.

Port Reviews

Antigua

We were interested in the history and scenery. Took the Scenic and history tour. The tour involved driving on narrow and sometimes bumpy roads. Not a good thing for anyone with motion sickness! A meal was not included, so it was necessary to purchase snacks at the Nelson Shipyard. The guide was somewhat short with us at times. Not as personable as on other tours. See the main review for more.

Barbados

Beach break here. Beach was OK, but would have preferred a beach farther from town. See the main review.

St. Kitts (Port Zante)

Took the catamaran cruise to Nevis. Yay, a delicious lunch was served. Too much alcohol provided. Great cruise over all. See the main review.

St. Lucia

This was our favorite island. Very beautiful. Took the coastal cruise to the Pitons. Swam, snorkeled, and enjoyed the day immensely. See the main review.
