My parents had planned a Panama Canal cruise shortly before they died ... at 68 years young ... so at 73, I fulfilled their dream. I needed a chance to get out of the house and out of all my obligations and thought a 15-day cruise with lots of days at sea would fill the bill and it did! The Princess crew is fantastic and the food divine. Small portions and my commitment to getting in 7000 steps a day and swimming in one of the majestic pools gave me the surprise of a lifetime. Despite the formidable variety of food and the delicious courses every night in one fine dining room after another...no weight gain!
Every member of the crew made an effort to serve you to your satisfaction. It wasn't just the personal stuff either, the shows and entertainment nightly couldn't be missed.
Looking forward to my next one ... and it will be on a Princess ship!
Traveling on a tight budget I usually opt for an interior room but as this was 15-days and the price difference to upgrade to an ocean view - we splurged and were able to watch through our window. Lots of room to store our stuff and clean up. Our steward kept everything clean and neat.
time in port limited exploring to not much more than the harbor Too many peddlers
without an excursion it is easy to visit the aviary and see a wide (really wide)_ range of birds and animals.
Wanted to experience the exotic animals and birds of Costa Rica so were fortunate to travel a river with an excellent guide and witnessed birds and other animals in their natural habitat.
