We chose this cruise to celebrate our 25th anniversary. The cruise went as expected with a lot Princess had to offer watered down or non-existent due to Covid ad supply chain issues. These were known going in so I wont elaborate further. That said, Princess, or namely the staff and crew of Grand Princess was adequate, at best. The ship made the trip without any major problems. The cabin had dust on horizontal surfaces that remained the entire trip along with fingerprints on the TV, unacceptable on any cruise line. There was a used bar of soap in the shower sitting in water. Really? As far as their "enhanced cleaning".....unacceptable. The steward was friendly as friendly can be. The ship overall was in better condition than I expected, a plus. The shows were entertaining and on par from what I expected. Food was adequate and a far cry from my previous experience. Covid protocols, there were signs posted at the buffet and high traffic areas. No encouragement whatsoever in dining rooms or buffet for hygiene of hand washing or sanitizer. Only a daily announcement by the captain. No washy washy or even a gentle point to the sanitizer, nothing. The cruise went from the pier with no smoking protocols in effect inside the ship. 3 days later, that went completely out the window. On the 2nd formal night, there was cigar and cigarette smoking in the casino. It was terrible, no enforcement of no cigar smoking. My wife fell ill and fainted from it. The response from emergency personnel was inadequate and disorganized to the point they were taking medical direction from a passenger who had been sitting gambling claiming to be a nurse. I was pulled away from my wife by their personnel at the direction of said passenger. Totally unacceptable. When queried by me, Princess refused to identify the passenger nor investigate her claims. Beware: if you have a medical issue aboard, you might want to reconsider cruising. CPR was performed by this passenger with no presenting indications. My wife wound up the rest of the cruise in moderate to severe chest pain inflicted needlessly and carelessly by a passenger and nothing was done about it by Princess on her behalf outside of a whopping bill that said she was fine a hour later. That passenger DID NOT KNOW PROPER CPR protocols and failed every step of the way. The cigar smoking in the casino by high rollers aboard, Princess proudly announced over the intercom there were hundreds. Cater to the uber rich, eh? No smoking in the casino on formal nights and no cigar smoking has been a long standing Princess policy that was thrown out the first chance they had. To hell with health, get those machines running, we lost money on covid.. There were to be testing for Covid at pier as per prior Hawaiian cruises, none. No pre test during cruise for Hawaii. These were all part of the protocols before we flew to LA. Princess, and Carnival corporation dropped the ball. If you have any conditions that might require medical assistance or emergency response, I strongly suggest you contact your doctor first and do not rely on the cruise line for your safety. I am so disappointed in Princess at the moment. I give deference to situations that are in flux but there is a line, and it was crossed.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Dusty day one with fingerprints on screen. Remained until disembarkation. Used soap in soap tray. Beds made daily, a vacuum was used daily. Just superficial cleaning. Not what I've experienced before.

Port Reviews

Hilo

Loved Hilo, took Hoppa on Hoppa off tour of city sights.

Honolulu

Pearl Harbor and Pali lookout and city tour was great, wasn't able to secure launch to memorial but we still went to the visitors center.

Kauai

Beautiful beach walking distance from ship. Lovely day.

Maui

Went to Maui Ocean center, loved it.
