We recently completed our third Viking River cruise. The Tulips and Windmills cruise visited bot The Netherlands and Belgium, concluding with an opening day visit to the world famous Keukenhof Gardems outside Amsterdam.

Our cruise was the first of the season on this itinerary and the first for the new crew. It was fascinating to watch the leadership exhibited by the Captain and his department directors. The captain was extraordinarily hands on with the team , the maitre d’hotel built a waitstaff team from a raw beginning to an extremely well oiled machine. The housekeeping group provided exceptional service. The executive chef provided outstanding meals capitalizing on local favorites with market fresh ingredients. The professionalism exhibited by the Tir team was appreciated by the passengers throughout this 10 day trip.

Weather was much better than anticipated with sunny days throughout the trip and highs in the mid 60’s. The warm temps allowed outdoor lunch dining and even one evening dinner as the sun set in Antwerp.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Stateroom

Typical 100’s level cabin. We spend very little time in the cabin so a balcony is wasted on the river for us. We always would take a balcony on an ocean cruise.

Port Reviews

Amsterdam

Great city, very fun to walk the neighborhoods and people watch.
