Silverseas should’ve never allowed passengers on board the Silvercloud knowing that their crew was infected with the omicron variant of Covid. More than half of the crew was in quarantine with many crewmembers on passenger floors indicated by a tray in front of the room. This was supposed to be a six star cruise and yet we were fed cold Buffetfood, as the chefs were in quarantine. The LaDame restaurant never opened and we did not have the type of cuisine you would expect from this amount of money.

There was no videographer, no photographer, no kayaks for our expedition as half of the expedition crew were in quarantine. There was no entertainment Director, no entertainment around the ship. We only were able to go on for zodiac cruises out of 12. Silverseas advertisers butler service however due to the Covid infection are butlers introduced himself by stating that he had 25 rooms to handle and that is very diminished service. And then we were told we had to leave Antarctica to go back to Chile, and the country of chile did not allow us to do anything, not even get off the ship on a zodiac, so we floated around aimlessly for five days.

If anything can make matters worse, it was how silver seas treated us with deceptiveness, lies, and a total lack of respect and communication. They had promised to give us Covid tests on board so we can meet all of our international flight requirements, however they were so quick to disembark that we ended up getting tested haphazardly in a hotel in Santiago with many of us barely making our international flights. Once we arrived home many people contacted Covid and some never did make it home as they were quarantined at the port. During our cruise rather than enjoying ourselves we had scheduled, with over half of the passengers, meetings to figure out how to approach Silverseas about her experience.

Cabin Review

We were originally booked on the silver spirit which was supposed to be renovated but it was not. We were also supposed to leave out of Argentina, and we left out of Chile. That’s the silver cloud is a very old ship and not what we were expecting when we booked the trip. I suppose the cabin was OK for a very old ship but it was showing it’s age.

Port Reviews

I wish I could state that I have been in a Antarctica over the limited amount of time we were there and the fact that our four out of 12 landings were very short because of a lack of zodiac drivers in expedition cruise members due to the Covid outbreak, I can at least say I have been there but I don’t have many positive memories.
