I should put that into perspective. We are not well seasoned cruisers with 20+ cruises. This was our 8th cruise, with the 7 prior cruises on mass-market lines and on large (2000+ pax) ships. This was our first cruise on a small ship (<1000 pax) on a luxury cruise line. We'd been reading about Viking on CC and watching YT videos, so we had a sense of what to expect on the ship. However, actually experiencing that level of service is hard to put into words. One must experience it to fully understand.

Travel to Port of Embarkation & Embarkation

We originally booked our air travel with Viking along with the cruise back in 2020. By June 2021, with the pandemic showing no sign of easing the air fares to Europe were significantly less than what Viking was charging. We decided to book our own flights and cancelled Viking's air component. Yes, that can be done even after final payment was made. Viking refunded our air component within days. Bravo to Viking for processing refunds within days during a time when other cruise lines took months to do so.

Cabin Review

Our cabin was a Deluxe Veranda cabin with the best view on any cruise: the wake view. The cabin itself is a pretty common sized balcony cabin on modern cruise ships. The things that set this cabin part: heated bathroom floors and mirrors. No fogging on the mirror after a long, hot shower, and warm floors in the middle of the night without the need to find slippers. It's the details that make the biggest differences. The balcony itself isn't too big for an aft cabin. Typically aft cabins have deeper balconies, not on Viking. While the glass of the railing slopes away from the deck so the balcony has more "leg room", it's not deep enough to accommodate a lounger.

There were 3 drawers on the side the closet, and 2 drawers inside of closet. Overall storage spaces are rather limited.
