Actually, this was the 5 day, 4 night cruise.

General Information: This cruise was identical to the cruise we took in December. The biggest difference was that this time, it was Spring Break, and the ship was around 3/4 filled. We had zero lines or delays in December, and for this cruise lines were predominant on the island and in the buffet. Also, this was the ship's first cruise with a sizable passenger load. Regrettably, the dining room and/or kitchen weren't ready. We also heard that there were 800 kids on the ship and the various children's activity programs were filled. Some parents weren't happy. On the December cruise, there was a made-to-order omelet station; not on this one. They had premade ham/cheese or veggie. And on the fourth morning, there were no omelets. There were no bananas by the second morning. The 5:30 dinner consistently was so slow you couldn't make it to the 7:00 show. Things finally sped up by the final night. Masking was barely enforced, and by the last day, few passengers were masked. On the first night at the buffet, there was a staff member encouraging us to use the hand-washing sinks and wear masks. She disappeared by the third night. The buffet was self-serve. On the port side, there are two small elevators with outside views. They are hard to find, and usually empty. You might want to purchase the digital photo package, considering that each print costs $25, it's a deal.

Cabin: If you want to see the island, get a starboard cabin where you'll be able to watch the light show. Our 12th deck cabin was very quiet. The bathroom is very dark when the light is switched off. I brought a plug-in night light, but it turns off when the light turns off. Maybe bring a battery light or flashlight. The mattress was very firm. Our cabin steward, Renan, was super and the cabin was spic and span.

Port Reviews

Nassau

It's a long walk to the exit. Make sure you bring a photo ID, like a drivers license. You really do need it to get back through port security.

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve

Look for the seafood truck with lobster rolls. A cabana is worth it.
