Cabin: Deluxe Ocean View with Balcony 2B

I am handicapped and need an accessible cabin. I stay on ship and move around on a rented electric mobility scooter. This ship meets most of my needs plus this cruise was at about 50% capacity so no waiting for elevators. Room was near elevators and hall width was fine. The staff was perfect. I do not try specialty restaurants but use the formal one as much as possible. Staff made a special table so I could dine from my scooter. In the café there was always someone to get food for me and plenty of tables that are scooter friendly. Food was very good and varied enough so you don't get bored on a 10 day trip. On and off ship was easy. The Covid test before was a hassle with 2 day timing and one day flying but I managed. I was surprised that all doors to outside decks were manual and had thresholds. These were perimeter decks and jogging area. No way a person on scooter can go through these. Also restrooms have cumbersome doors that are very tough to open on a scooter. Ship is small enough I just used my cabin. Entertainment was fantastic overall and varied. All cruise lines need to never have a comedian. My last several were very wrong in jokes for the audience. This was my first cruise since January 2020 after postponing several. Overall I was very pleased with Celebrity and the ship. My wife loved it and no ports were cancelled.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View with Balcony 2B

Cabin was accessible and roomy enough for my scooter and walker. Balcony had a fairly high ramped threshold but with care was passable. Commode was typical very small hole which is a problem for a large male. Commode only had grab bars on right side - I like both sides - but had a small book case in it which served as a left side push up point. Attendant was great. Roll in showier did not have perimeter scuppers but contained the water fine. Water pressure and temp control was fine. Bed was fantastic and A/C was excellent. Lighting and plugs were OK. Having USB and AC on night stand was nice touch. Good plug and location for scooter charger. I miss a good inside reading chair - most ships lack that.
