We chose to try MSC because we heard it was less of a frat party atmosphere than Carnival, which was definitely true. That being said, it was a very bad experience. From the constantly changing embarkation time (3 changes in 12 hours), to the constantly changing boarding time in Mexico (4 changes while we were off the ship, ranging from 2:30 - 6:00), they had no clue what they were doing. We waited 45 minutes for drinks in the Brooklyn, even though there were only 3 tables occupied, and then there was so much mint in the mojito that I literally needed a spoon. Finally, we got sick and chose to quarantine. We called and asked to get room service, but they refused because I have a food allergy. They said if we tested positive for covid, they could deliver. Otherwise, we would need to go out for food ourselves. We were trying to do the right thing and not get others sick as were coughing horribly, but they flat out didn't care. Despite posting everywhere about health protocols, Temps were not being checked, bathrooms were constantly out of soap, and unmasked people were everywhere. Finally, the entertainment was horrible and offensive. The show celebrating female music icons highlighted a woman being BEATEN as part of the dance and ended with her repeatedly returning to the abuser. HOW is this a celebration of women's strength?! Every other song was about woman being airheads who just want money. They canceled a show without notifying people, and the app constantly contradicted the information on the daily program. Finally, all pools close at 8:00 daily and there was no free ice cream unless you have a child with you.
