The biggest reason we chose this cruise were the ports of call and the timing. The Epic is a great ship that is modern and easy to navigate with all the modern amenities. Embarkation was chaotic - we checked in online but had to repeat every step in person. We arranged to have local COVID tests at the airport which were simple and easy and saved nearly $500. Service is mostly outstanding though some waits in restaurants were too long considering that the ship wasn't close to full. Our cabin was lovely as expected - we had a very large balcony near the front of the ship - which meant we had a less than amazing view from the bottom as it was all metal and we had hoped for the normal balcony with glass on the bottom half. The balcony would have been nicer had the chairs been better - there was plenty of space and 4 chairs would have been nice. The cabin was spacious - we didn't mind the weird bathroom setup. The beds are simply too short for a normal sized human male. The TV was absurd - there were few entertainment stations but there were movies for purchase. One of the channels had one TV show on a loop, like 3 episodes every day for all 7 days. The 2 channels that weren't news/sports had no guide so no idea what you were watching or what you might expect. The ports were mostly fantastic - Aruba is wonderful - we got off the boat and secured a catamaran trip for swimming, snorkeling, etc. Curacao was lovely, the beaches were beautiful - we went on a short excursion that we secured off the boat to go to the Caves - big mistake - not worth it. Grenada was difficult to navigate but friendly and beautiful -we chose to spend the day at the beach which was great. St. Lucia was our least favorite - we had some restrictions due to COVID to stay in cruise-approved sites, excursions. We chose an excursion to go to the Drive in Volcano - a 5.5 hour roundtrip. It was AWFUL - the tour operators stopped at their friends shops/sites. The bus had 22 people on it which was far too many - two of the passengers had NO leg room due to wheel hubs, and were crushed in those seats for over five hours. The driver was rude - urinated in front of everyone at the first stop and drove like a madman headed back to the ship because he clearly had other $$$ opportunities he was headed towards. St. Kitts was a slice of HEAVEN - we went to a beach on the tip of the island for the day and simply soaked in the sun/surf/shells/rum. NCL welcomed us back at each port with a nice refreshing towel and water which was a nice way to get back on the ship. For entertainment, there were the basic shows/comedians/performers. I would say the performers at the pool and in general areas were less than amazing. Priscilla Queen of the Desert is still not being performed which was disappointing. The Barricade Boys shows were FANTASTIC. Burn the Floor was well done but not my thing and the lead female vocalist was not great - did a lot of screaming not singing. I thought it might be a sound issue but you could understand the male vocalist easily.

As for food, the buffet was well the buffet - if you've done one you've done them all. Cagney's Steakhouse was awesome- well worth it. We also dined at the Teppanyaki Restaurant - not my favorite food but done very well - the chef was wonderful and entertaining. The Taste Dining Room was great - wonderful service and great food. All-in-all a great trip - the shore excursion on St. Lucia was awful but those things happen. The biggest and only other negative was that on the last day of the voyage we felt that we were being sort of pushed off the boat. Things weren't available - things were closed, seemed like they were saying - we're done - Goodbye!

Disembarkation was easy and seamless.

Cabin Review

We had a balcony room which was great - see above.

Port Reviews

Aruba

Outstanding - we took a catamaran, did some snorkeling, swimming, etc. It was GRAND~!

St. Kitts (Port Zante)

Beaches are gorgeous - especially the beaches on the tip.

The Drive in Volcano - hugely overrated!!!!
