We chose this cruise for the itinerary. As I understand it, our cruise was the first of this itinerary to actually make all of its scheduled stops since the Omicron spike. We had no known cases of Covid on the ship our week by staff or cruisers. That was great. Most people followed the masking requirements for the first part of the week but got sick of it later in the week
Our room was a suite as we got a great deal for an upgrade when Omicron caused a lot of cancellations. It was fantastic with a full size bathroom with a dual sink and full size shower with 2 shower heads. The bed was very comfortable. The TV was small and in a terrible spot but we don't go on a cruise to watch TV. Our room steward Rodel was great! They only clean the room once per day but if we ever needed anything extra, he was always willing.
The food was ok. I agree with most people that Carnival has definitely cut back on the quantity and some of the quality. The shrimp and lobster have gotten smaller and the presentation on the plate has definitely gotten more cafeteria style. The flavors were always ok but not outstanding. We ate most nights in the "anytime" dining room with Sukanta as our lead server and Abbey and Anthony as his team and we can't say enough good things about them. On a couple nights, we wish they wouldn't have been so fast as we were just taking our time. On the lido deck for breakfast and lunch, we really liked the burritos for both breakfast and lunch as well as the Mongolian Wok. The BBQ was good as well.
