We wanted a small intimate casual cruise around the Seychelles. Our second time with Variety cruises and it was an excellent choice. As cruising is only just restarting there were only 18 guests of mixed nationality. From the moment we stepped onboard we felt welcomed and at home. All of the crew and officers were excellent and obviously happy in their job. Nothing was too much trouble and the chef and waiting staff went the extra mile for special dietary needs. Elliott the cruise director was on hand all the time and so knowledgeable. He took us on treks across the islands explaining and showing us the flora and fauna. He also led the fantastic snorkelling trips, finding turtles, sharks, morays etc and took photographs which he was happy to share with us. He made the cruise extra special. Treks and snorkelling trips were all included and there were interesting short lectures on some days.

This cruise is ideally suited to fairly fit and agile guests as trips to shore are by zodiac and mostly wet landings. The ship is very comfortable but not a glitzy gin palace so everyone was very happy to pad around the decks dripping wet having been on the beach or snorkelling. For those who do not snorkel there are kayaks and paddle boards and its possible to swim from the swim deck. We don't consider this cruise suitable for young children.

The cabins are spacious and comfortably furnished, the ensuites are compact if a tad tired but perfectly adequate. The food and choice was excellent, a plus was tea, coffee and cake available all day. Read more
