Friends we knew were going on this cruise and we thought it would be fun to join them! Since we had never cruised with Princess before we were up for an adventure.

Unfortunately, this cruise was not what we expected. From attempting to sign up through their "medallion" device (which did not work) to their shipboard activities that actually closed down at 10:00 pm., almost everything was a disappointment. This cruise was not FUN like our other cruises we had taken in the past.

Disappointed items include: 1. The medallion they make you sign up for and wear. 2. We repeatedly asked various staff members for directions to a particular place only to find out the staff was wrong. 3. Ordering room service from "medallion" did not work. It was easier to pick up the phone and order. 4. Attempting to order chocolate milk from the main buffet...not happening. (the white milk was Always Warm). 5. Two tiny smoking sections. One forward and one aft. The forward section had two ashtrays and No chairs. The aft section was better with 6 small tables but still away from all the fun that should have been going on in the pool area below. On other cruises, our numerous smoking sections were away from the public but still close enough to enjoy the music and we could also smoke in the smoking section of the casino but the Princess had no casino smoking section. 6. Their excursions were extremely expensive and they encourage us to use our "medallions" to purchase items at the port shops. However, many of the shops would not take our medallions (we were told by various shop owners that Princess takes around 18% commission for medallion usage. 7. A simple mustard drill was a cluster and nobody could tell us anything about how we were supposed to do it through the TV and sign a sheet at our main station. 8. No fun or food activities after 10:00 pm...everything was shut down BUT you could order room service through your medallion that did not work!
