Grey, Cold and dreary in New York. Booked the two bedroom Haven even though there was only the two of us because I got a nice discount through the Casino. The room is great ( two bathrooms and walk-in showers) tiny balcony but we spent every nice weather moment on the upstairs sundeck. Only the first morning and Last afternoon was too cold to sit outside. The food in the Haven restaurant is great ( except for the Roast beef and no more lamb chops). We also had a lunch in O'Sheehans ( great wings and Rueben ) and dinner at Le Bistro ( delicious) and Ocean Blue ( only fair). we didn't get off the ship except for the last port, Norfolk Virginia. Not enough time ( 7:00 AM-11 Am). Our excursion to the art museum was cancelled two days before the cruise . We went to the boat museum ( boring and pricey and the USS Wisconsin Battleship , fascinating). The entertainment was uneven. Million Dollar Quartet was FABULOUS, do not miss. The same troupe did a small show where they covered Broadway songs in a modern way. Burn the Floor ( latin dancing) very good. The rest of the entertainment was terrible. Two poor comedians, and a mentalist ( lame) . We missed the singer and went to one BiNGO. They do not give away the big come on prize. The Casino was a lot of fun. Because the ship only had 1400 passengers out of a possible 4000 you could get on any machine. I had 4 hand pays! But of course , I gave it all back. I didn't like the way they ran the slot tournament, no leader board. The only problem was the smokers in the casino ( I wore a mask even though after the first day almost no one wore one.) We also wore a mask in the Theater and on elevators. Other than that , we didn't. As far as I know, no one got sick. There were some children on board and they were allowed to use the 16+ Haven Sundeck. I'd never seen that before. The Haven service was terrific. Omar the concierge was excellent as was the Maitre'D and the Stewards. Anything you asked for, they tried to do.
