Wonderful cruise with full COVID protocols. The customer service was extraordinary. I believe there was one crew member for every passenger. The crew was so happy to have us on board, they went out of their way to meet our every need. Never waited in line or struggled to find a table in the Lido or a chair on the pool deck.
Testing in the terminal prior to embarkation went smoothly. We were on the ship by 1 and are room was ready. Excellent cabin steward who introduced himself, ask if we had any special requests and serviced our room twice a day. Had a quick lunch in the Lido and toured the ship to get oriented. Had dinner in the main dining room, fixed time, only one seating at 5:30 because the ship is only half full. Enjoyed the food and meeting our excellent waiter for the next two weeks. Super Bowl was being shown in the bars and there was a good group of fans. The passed sliders and other appetizers during the game. Took full advantage of our Signature beverage package while watching the game. No problem catching the eye of a server and the drinks came quickly. Long day so early to bed after the game.
Sea days: There is a nice shaded area on the bow of the ship next to the pool and one of the bars & restaurants. Great place to read or watch for sea life; we saw whales, several schools of dolphins, flying fish and some turtles. Took advantage of the fitness center in the morning, learned to play pickleball. Watched documentaries on the canal in our room, played trivia.
Aft verandah We loved being able to see both sides of the ship, especially during the Panama Canal passage. The verandah was spacious and only partially covered. There was a bit of ash from the stacks but it was power washed by the crew twice during our 2 week cruise. Plenty of storage. Loved the curtain separating the room from the bathroom at night.
