Dear cruisers,

Before I start with my review I would like to point out that the comments, observations and feelings in this review are personal and belong to this specific Caribbean cruise that started on January 13th and ending on the 24th on board the Regent SS Splendor.

This was a cruise that should've happened more than 1 1/2 years ago but because of the pandemic was canceled and rebooked twice. During that "waiting" period six cruises (including Splendor) were also canceled/rebooked. It was a very depressing and frustrating time. As happened to many avid cruisers like us, with over 40 cruises under our belt, our expectations were growing, especially reviewing many cruise magazines full of beautiful pictures. In my opinion, really, they send far too many!!.

Concierge Suite

Ours was a Concierge Suite on Deck 8. Very nicely appointed, very comfortable bed (facing the balcony and window) but it's duvet cover was for me excessively heavy and too difficult to handle, especially awkward when you're sleeping. The bathroom was ample with two sinks and a lot of storage, bathtub and quite a big shower stall, lots of amenities, etc. The walk-in closet has a well located safety deposit box, lots of hangers, shelves, etc. Everything very good but way too narrow; impossible for two people to be there at the same time; it has a nice sofa, a good sized table, chairs (had to ask for an extra one because only one was there) but the highlight of the place was the balcony, very deep! with two very comfortable adjustable wicker chairs, a small table and a wicker lounge chair as well. Very very nice place to enjoy a good drink and in peace! without people walking or running around you!!

I have to mention that we were very lucky with the fantastic suite attendant Gregory and his assistant Nadir (?) not only because when they made up the suite, they left it in excellent condition but specially when called they were at the door in less than a minute and any request was delivered just as fast. Because the washer/dryer/ironing areas are closed (pandemic effect) we were getting free, unlimited laundry (washing, ironing and folding) and they were returned to you hanged (if needed) or wrapped on tissue paper inside a fabric coated box. Really amazing and only comparable (and even better) than what we experienced on Viking cruises. Being in a Concierge category, you also get a free 1 night pre-cruise hotel in Miami, but I will be more explicit about it later on.
