I was part of a group convention that took place on the Allure in February 2022. The ship had about 3,000 passengers, or about 60% full. While we were told 'everything would be up and running' we found that generally was not true in all cases. In many situations, hours were cut or openings were hard to come by. Shows booked fast. When something was cancelled it was rarely replaced. There was a general lack of shows. I'm used to a 'dinner show' offered twice a night each night. Instead there was the Aqua show, Mamma Mia, and an Ice Show. For a seven night cruise, this seemed really lacking.
There was also a large impact to the excursions. Many that were advertised on the RC web site four months in advance were cancelled, including our post-cruise excursion of a bus tour of Miami. When excursions were cancelled, only about half were replaced. We ended up without an excursion for 2 of our 3 port calls due to the lack of open spots. Luckily my convention group had plenty of activities to fill in the time. If I had been there without the group, I would have been very upset and disappointed.
Dining requires you to sit at the same table in the assigned dining time. In our convention group, one person tested positive for COVID the second day and RC quarantined the entire dining table. Passengers had to test negative twice in a 24 hour period to get let out. I felt bad for those folks - someone they didn't know apparently walked onto the ship already not feeling well and it resulted in them losing a day of their vacation. If you are sick, stay home! RC refunds for COVID illness. Don't ruin other people's vacations.
Not much to do, very limited excursions.
Dolphin swim was very fun. Lots of hard sells in the port shop area. Wish they would lay-off a little - I'd be willing to buy something without a seller breathing down my neck.
