Booked this cruise 2 years after our last Regent Cruise, which ended in February of 2020 in San Francisco. And, yes, we all know what happened then. I was so happy at the time that the cruise was so far out in 2022, that surely COVID would be done by then. Well, of course, just as we were trying to figure out what to do, Omicron hit and hard. The CDC issued a warning not to cruise, and we seriously thought about cancelling (especially after two years at home). But we didn't and we were glad we went.

We received no fewer than 4 missives from Regent leading up to the cruise because so much was in flux. Countries were changing their requirements, and COVID was spiking and they needed to react. They did a terrific job of keeping us updated.

Based on their recommendation, we got tested just prior to leaving home through a firm they had contracted with (we paid for the test). We were negative and we left for Miami 2 days early. Since we were in a concierge suite, they paid for one night in the hotel, we paid for the additional one.

Concierge Suite

mid-ship -- husband gets sea sick. Immense closet, plenty of drawers, big shower and separate tub, nice sized balcony with lounger, table and two comfy chairs. Fully stocked fridge with what you want and room service just a call a way.
