We have cruised with Norwegian in the past and have been very satisfied (the Pearl). The dining options are always good as is the food. I really like the specialty restaurants, but my husband likes the buffet, so you can't lose.

The staff is always wonderful. We were pleased with the COVID protocol and safety measures. They were always busy cleaning.

We were less than impressed with excursions this time, but there were plenty of activities on board. Most people we talked with do their own research and venture out on their own. Don't do that in the Dominican Republic. WiFi was ... well, WiFi at sea, so sometimes complicated, but it was free.

Cabin Review

Aft-Facing Balcony Stateroom

Our balcony cabin was great. We were completely satisfied. We liked that you could opt out of room service on a day-to-day basis.

Port Reviews

Aruba

Aruba was very clean and safe. We took a taxi to Eagle Beach for $5 each. We paid $45 for beach chairs and an umbrella and enjoyed the whole day in the sun and water.

Curacao

It was clean and safe, but all we did was shop. We were hoping to dive, but we arrived in port too late. There was no dive excursion offered either.

Great Stirrup Cay

Great Stirrup Cay and our couples massage on the beach got cancelled. We had to port at Nassau. We didn't care for it. Shopping was nice but people were less than honest. They always gave the wrong change at the bars. They would tell you they had WiFi to get you in. Then, after you purchased your drinks, you would find out it wasn't working.

Roatan

This did not feel safe. The port was nice, but you couldn't just grab a cab and go explore. It was very dirty. Don't bother with the Power Snorkel excursion. We saw nothing but the beach and the 45-minute ride on the Wild Truck was awful. You were literally bouncing up out of the seats. My husband called it the ball-buster. The equipment didn't work well. There ended up being several groups on this beach and our tour guide didn't tell us what time to meet to go back. He just yelled when it was time to leave and you had to scramble. Definitely not worth the money. However, I do highly recommend the blue stone jewelry mined only in the DR.
