My wife and I sailed on NCL Getaway out of Miami 2/2/22. There are tons information about the ports and excursions so I am going to focus on something else. Service! (good or poor) can make an average cruise great or leave a bad feeling about the entire experience. We booked a room in the Haven (yes it’s worth the extra cost) the two bedroom villa # 16112. The two bedroom suite has two bathrooms (very handy) plus allowing us to leave our suitcases open on the extra bed (also very handy). Back to Service, our butler, “LEO” is a gem! Each voyage I’ve taken in the Haven ends with the thought “best butler ever”, I don’t believe anyone will ever top Leo! The Haven restaurant always has the best food and the best service. Folks if you are ever lucky enough to have “RONY”, “BERNADETTE “ or “DIGNA” as your waiters a good part of your cruise is guaranteed to be great! Service - impeccable, they are each warm, courteous, friendly, entertaining and just very nice people! Be sure to ask him why “Ronny” is Rony with one n. Before you get into the Haven restaurant you are greeted by the hostess “JANET”. Day 1 she will ask for your key card, she must be a genius because she remembers everyones name AND room number the rest of the cruise. She does not sneak peek’s at her computer, she remembers everyone! We noticed sometimes she put a white linen napkin in our lap and sometimes a black one. When we asked her about it she explained white if you were wearing lighter clothes, black if wearing darker clothes so any lint would not show! Lovely lady who makes everyone feel special. I cannot leave our room steward “RENALDO” out of this praiseworthy crew. He saw to our every need and comfort with a great and genuine smile. I never needed to ask for anything due to his gift of anticipation. The Haven bar; “CHRISTIAN” and “ANNA” charismatic, happy, entertaining, great, great people to have in the bar! My wife always buys little gifts to take home for family and while she shopped I found an out of the way place to wait. While I was waiting I noticed a young lady helping customers in the jewelry store, she was full of energy and obviously wanted to help people and enjoyed doing so. When there was a break in customers she came over to see if I needed anything. I told her jewelry was not on our shopping list but unlike most sales people she did not walk away or push for a sale, instead she asked where we were from, was I enjoying the cruise, etc. just being a friendly and kind person. After that “JAZMINE” (if she was not with a customer) always took time to say hello to my wife and me as we passed through the area. I wish I knew the names of the many other members of the crew who were so kind and helpful on the Getaway. They made a good cruise great, they are The Best Crew Ever!
