We chose this cruise nearly 2 1/2 years in advance because of it's unique itinerary which included the Panama Canal. It was to be our dream cruise. Turned out to be the cruise from hell. The day before sailing, they cancelled the cruise we booked and replaced it with a shorter cruise that included none of the ports that were on the cruise we booked. They claimed an abundance of caution because of concerns over Omicron. A check showed that this ship was not being restricted from any of the original ports, either before or after our sailing. The decision was made solely by Carnival with no passenger input. The fact is that there were fewer passengers on the ship than they wanted. The new cruise shortened sailing distance by more than 1,000 miles saving them a lot of fuel, provisions and expense. The heck with the passengers. Everything on the ship seamed to be done on the cheap. The buffets were the worst I have encountered on any of our previous cruises. The breakfast buffet was particularly bad. Bacon was available on only every other day. On two days neither bacon or sausage was available. On one day, they cut up pieces of hotdog and tried to pass it off as "pork" breakfast sausage. Even the ham was dried out and turning gray from sitting out too long. The egg whites on eggs Benedict were uncooked and runny. On one occasion, we tried the seafood corner. Big mistake. The New England clam chowder was a bowl of starch. The bread they cut out of the bread bowl it was served in was used as a thickener. Clams and clam flavor were virtually non existent. By far, the worst I have ever had. We ordered the twin lobsters based upon the one on display. What we got was missing the large claw and had a grainy texture. This happens when you heat a lobster that has been been precooked then refrigerated or frozen for awhile. On one occasion, we hung our request for breakfast room service on the door at 9pm. At 8am the time, we requested for service, it was still hanging there. They never even bothered to pick it up. Entertainment on this ship was also the worst we had ever seen on any cruise. The comedians were not very funny. Two of the three elevators in the atrium were out of service for the entire cruise. Particularly a problem on embarkation day when the midship elevators were restricted to the crew. This left only one of seven midship elevators available to passengers leading to gross over crowding. On the second day we used the midship hot tub. The jets were not working. We asked a crewmember to turn them. He said that the CDC would not permit this. Turned out to be false. I could go on and on with this list of issues but the management of Carnival just doesn't seem to care. We used to be supporters of Carnival. Not any more. They cannot be trusted.

Cabin Review

The balcony was coated with salt from sea spray making it unuseable. The cabin attendants made no effort to clean it.
