We absolutely loved Meraviglia and the itinerary! We were on the 7 night which went to Ocean Cay, Costa Maya and Cozumel.
Check in and Covid testing was a breeze prior to boarding. We arrived late due to flight delays and ended up at the port after 2pm. We were the ONLY people at check in!! Got tested, got checked in and boarded within 20 minutes. Easiest ever. Found out there were only 450 people on board a ship that carries 4,500, so that may have had something to do with the ghost ship feel.
Food in the Waves dining room was terrific, service by Tatenda and Ram was fabulous. Crab cakes were incredible, but we were really impressed by all the food in the MDR. Much better than the other two MSC ships we have been on.
We liked our balcony cabin for the most part. One of the sliding doors on the closet was hitchy and made it difficult to easily open it. The overall storage space was smaller than normal but quite adequate for 7 nights. The balcony was only 2 floors up from the lifeboats, which meant because of the safety lights, it was never dark on our balcony. Stargazing is one of our simple cruise pleasures, and it wasn't possible on this trip because of the lights. But our cabin steward Cyrus was so perfect and sweet and our cabin kept spotless, with every request accomplished quickly and with a smile.
